My doctor told me I had too much stress in my life and I needed a week off to recharge. In his office was a Missouri vacation guide, so I picked it up and started browsing. I figured a vacation was just the ticket and I live only a few hours from the Missouri border so I thought why not? The wife and I love to camp and I have been taking my doctors advice and have changed the food I take camping to be of the healthy variety. Actually I think it’s healthier just because of the way it is prepared. Grilling a piece of meat over an open fire gets rid of a lot of the fat content. That’s a plus in it’s self. You don’t need to use nearly the salt to make food cooked over the campfire tasty. That natural hickory smoke blends with whatever is being prepared and that’s all the flavor I need. And as far as stress reduction, you can’t find a better way than camping. There is no schedule. There is no phone. There is no TV. I just relax and enjoy mother nature at her finest. It’s better than any drug known to man.
