Check Out What’s Making Waves in the Field of Constipation Research

Monday, July 21st, 2008

New constipation therapies are making waves in the field of constipation research today. The three new promising constipation therapies include lubiprostone (type-2 chloride channel activator), Anorectal biofeedback and probiotics.

An Evaluation of New Constipation Therapies

Evidence of the efficacy of the three novel constipation therapies was evaluated in a symposium in concurrence with the Digestive Disease Week. The symposium concluded that all three constipation therapies are effective and have been proven to be safe.

The FDA approved Lubiprostone, the type-2 chloride channel activator proved to be an effective treatment for adult chronic idiopathic constipation. According to the constipation research, in comparison with placebo, lubiprostone greatly heightened the bowel movement of the participants in just four weeks.

Compared with the 31% efficacy rate of the placebo treated participants, lubiprostone proved to be more effective with its 61% efficacy rate of increasing bowel movements. It has also shown to be well tolerated with only diarrhea, headache and nausea as common side effects.

Eczema And Food

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Although the exact cause of eczema is unknown, many doctors, dermatologists and eczema sufferers feel that there is a strong link between eczema and food. Since there seems to be a strong correlation between eczema and those with seasonal allergies or hay fever, some think eczema may be the body’s way of showing it is allergic to certain foods. The foods in question differ depending upon the individual.

Helping With Children Anxiety

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Of course, sometimes children anxiety has more routine and down-to-earth causes. Some children are just anxious. There is no simple reason for this, but there are ways to help. Don’t just assume that kids are tough and that everything is going to be okay. Talk to your kid. If he or she has a lot of worries, make him or her know that you are there to help. Sometimes, however, parental help is not enough. My sister, for example, had serious problems with children anxiety when she was growing up. Eventually, she had to go to a psychiatrist. It took years of therapy, but it did make her better to get some treatment.

StriVectin SD Review - The Price And The Value

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

I waited almost two months before my facial wrinkles reduced to become barely noticeable. By then my skin was already soft and smooth. I think it was because StriVectin has plenty of oil-rich ingredients. Can you imagine my husband’s reaction to my new youthful look?

At $135.00 for a 6 oz. tube, many people feel that it is too expensive as they can buy cheaper anti wrinkle creams. I am not sure exactly how it works. But I hope Klein Becker, the maker can provide more information on how a stretch mark cream can reduce wrinkles. To my knowledge, a peptide complex known as Pal-KTTKS is involved. This ingredient has been intensely researched by them.

What you should NEVER do when you use StriVectin. There are more information that has been left out that you should know. Check out the thorough StriVectin SD review.

Spectrum of Extremes

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Spectrum of Extremes
People on the autistic spectrum are so individually different. Some are
‘high-functioning’, some are ‘low-functioning’. Some cannot talk at all, while some talk early.
Some exhibit extreme sensory-based behaviors (stims) and some don’t. Some are highly
intelligent;while others may have I.Q.s under 50. Some are considered ‘mildly
affected’, and some are ’severely affected’. Some have vestibular or motor planning problems,
and some areathletic. The list goes on.
With all of the differences between individuals, what do people with Autism
have in common?
Whether you have a diagnosis of Autism, PDD-nos or Asperger’s Syndrome, all
people with autistic spectrum disorders seem to have one thing in common; a core
deficit. Autistic spectrum disorders arise from a bio-neurological condition; a
weakness in a child’s biochemical and neurological development. They seem to go
hand-in-hand and both need to be evaluated for and treated as early as possible! All
individuals with Autism have these weaknesses in varying degrees.

Is Medication the Only Way to Treat Attention Deficit Disorder?

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

During the last years, many tests have been done on children to determine if there were genetic or environmental causes for the lack of attention span.

As time went on, a different psychologist created the label of attention deficit disorder.

Today there are hundreds of children that are given this label each year, and the pharmaceutical companies are developing different medication to treat this disorder. But I think it’s preferable to use caution when using these drugs.

The Very First Sunless Tanning Lotions were barely finalized

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

A long time ago -maybe 50 years back- sunless tanning spray was just starting to come out, but no one used it.

The idea of using sunless tanning lotions was absurd when you had the real sun out. Of course, I am sure some people used sunless tanning lotion in the winter time, but for most part people avoided it.

You see, it was awful. These original sunless were not well finalized lotions and not well made as well. They would turn the skin orange instead of tan. They were basically a spray on tanning lotion meant to simulate the color of sun tans. Needless to say, they did a very poor job at simulation. No one was impressed.

Reducing stress in your system is critical to your brain

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

Physical pain is considered by many to be more real than emotional pain. The body’s communication system begins in the brain and is transmitted to the rest of the body by the nerve system. Reducing stress, and the stress hormones, in your system is critical to your brain and overall fitness. This can also include keeping our brain’s healthy. Nothing is as important for the body and brain as regular exercise. The healthy brain needs for your body to sleep and rest. When you are deprived of enough sleep, the brain suffers. Take classes in something, and read as much as you can. The brain needs this stimuli to maintain its cognitive levels. There are wonderful ways to manage your stress, such as yoga, enjoyable hobbies, regular journeys to spas, healthful massage, and a host of other options. Use them, and let the stress pass away from you. Communication plays a valuable role in health. If anything occurs to interfere with this communication from brain to body, health issues can result. Prolonged exposure to the adrenal steroid hormones like cortisol, released during the stress response, can damage the brain and block the formation of new neurons in the hippocampus, which is the key player in encoding new memories in your brain. Regular exercise always increases circulation, improves one coordination, and helps prevent conditions that increase the risk of dementia such as heart disease, stroke, diabetesstress on the brain. Keep a healthy weight, control high-blood pressure, hypertension, and guard against diabetes. Each of these can negatively affect your cognitive state. Illegal drugs of any kind will negatively affect your cognitive state, and surely hasten the onset of dementia. When interference is removed, the integrity of the body can be restored and the body will heal on its own.
