September 2nd, 2008
Diabetes is a disorder that develops in people usually after the age of 40. This is one such health problem that can even affect the functioning of other body organs also. It was found that people can easily turn non diabetic, if they practice diets that contain vegetables, fish, grains and beans. The person having diabetes should resist the intake of sugar and bakery products. Again food items like eggs, meat and chicken should be also avoided for many reasons. Fruits and root vegetables should be made as a good portion of your diet. Usually diabetes occurs due to the absence of the hormone called insulin. But in case of this late occurring diabetes, insulin will be present. It is the inability of the body to respond to the insulin that causes this disorder.
The reason why body is not able to respond to insulin is because of the reason that the patient will be overweight and will be having too much fat content in his/her body. The patient usually takes too much of fat containing food as well as carbohydrates. Thus by substituting grains with the bakery products, one can reduce the calorie intake. Reduction in calorie intake will ultimately lead to weight loss.
Too much protein intake is also not good in case of diabetes, this is a major factor for diet treatment for Diabetes. It was found that damage of the kidney is the result. So it will be always better not to take eggs, chicken and meat. Refined carbohydrates intakes are also not good for diabetes. Insulin requirements can be reduced by taking monounsatr Durated and polyunsaturated fats that is found in vegetables. Fish contains omega3 fatty acids. Intake of this also reduces the insulin requirements. Sugar can stick on to the cells, if there are high blood sugar levels after having meals. This can cause the production of a poison called sorbitol. Sorbitol causes nerve, artery, kidney and heart disorders and hence sugar containing foods should be controlled.
Thus in order to keep blood sugar level under control, avoid the intake of too much carbohydrates through bakery food items. Ensure that only fruits are taken after meals which will not help in increased sugar level in blood. Substituting grain foods instead of all those bakery foods is a better option.
