“Hypnosis has been used in Western medicine for more than 150 years to treat everything from anxiety to pain, from easing the nausea of cancer chemotherapy to enhancing sports performance,” Ginandes says (Carol Ginandes of Harvard Medical School).

Hypnosis became popular as a treatment for medical conditions in the late 1700s when effective pharmaceutical and surgical treatment options were limited. In our present case studies patients treated with hypnosis experienced substantial benefits for many different medical conditions.
