Why Is Diabetes In Children On The Rise?
August 25th, 2008Part of the reason for the increase in juvenile diabetes can be directly linked to an increase in childhood obesity. But that would only explain the increase in type 2 diabetes. Far less clear are the reasons for an increase in type 1 diabetes in children. No one has come up with a completely valid reason why the disease has increased threefold in the last 30 years. Especially when you consider that a lot of the children now getting the disease have virtually no history of diabetes in their family.
