History of Acupuncture and Infertility

March 7th, 2010

Based on at least some of the studies, it seems like acupuncture may well be useful for combating infertility.

The historical evolution of acupuncture is not entirely clear. It appears that it had its origins in China at a time when the distance weapon of choice was the bow and arrow.

According to one legend  when some soldiers were hurt in battle by arrows, they noticed that prior injuries around that area suddenly got better. This led, of course, to many primitive research studies involving sticking sharp objects into people’s skins.

We can’t be sure that this is really true. What we do no, however,  is that in the interim, there have been many validated studies linking acupuncture infertility treatments together. In addition, acupuncture has been used by some cultures for years to help treat infertility.
