Why Arthritis In The Knee Causes So Much Knee Pain
For those who love to be active, there are few things more frustrating than not being able to do the things that they love because of arthritis and the pain that comes along with it.
Arthritis knee pain is caused by the degeneration or wear and tear of the meniscus. It is also worsened by their inflammation of soft tissues that surround the knee.
As your body ages, the meniscus gradually becomes weaker. Eventually, in most people, it becomes incapable of repairing itself. This doesn’t happen all at once. It happens after the daily wear and tear of every day living which, many times, leads to tearing or flaking.
Unfortunately, once the cartilage is lost due to degeneration, the shin bone and thigh bone are exposed. Then you have the friction of bone against bone. Additionally the friction results in the knee developing outgrowths or spurs called osteophytes. Osteophytes which makes the knee painful. More pain may occur also when rheumatic arthritis or arthritis in the knee invades the delicate tissues around the knee joint
Fortunately, with lots of companies pouring in billions of dollars due to the baby boom generations, scientists are coming up with lost of significant new ways of knee repair that can alleviate much of the pain for good.
