Aloe is Successful in Treating periodontal disease

March 18th, 2009

40% of adults have periodontal disease.

Studies indicate that obesity makes us vulnerable to the bacteria

which cause it. Boston University scientists studied the levels of

immune system chemicals produced by lean mice and their obese

counterparts, when confronted with the bug that causes

periodontal illness. After the mice had bacteria put on their gums,

tests showed that the obese mice had higher levels of the bacteria

in their mouths, and were suffering more bone loss around their

teeth. Obese mice also had lower levels of immunity chemicals

normally released by the body to fight infection.

The data indicates that obesity interferes with the ability of the

immune to  respond properly to infection. Dr. J. Taylor, a

molecular immunology expert at Newcastle University’s School of

Dental Sciences, said his own work shows strong connections

between periodontal disease and diabetes. “We found that

periodontal disease was more aggressive in diabetic patients.

Immunity can be compromised by obesity, leading to a higher

susceptibility to infection obesity, leading to a higher and also

 periodontal disease.”

Aloe Vera Has Great Periodontal Potential!

Aloe has many components that combat periodontal

disease. Dr Timothy Moore, Periodontist, has been using

Aloe for over 15 years with over 6,000 documented

patients. Dr. Moore uses Aloe in his dental practice in

many ways. He applies Aloe to traumatized gums and

other areas after dental surgery for better healing. He

uses it around dental implants to reduce inflammation

from bacteria and relieve dry mouth symptoms. Direct

application helps with abscesses, canker sores, ulcers,

herpetic viral lesions, and even cracked lips. It provides

pain relief and healing for problems associated with

Burning Mouth Syndrome, geographic tongue, gingivitis,

glossititis, leukemia, Candidiasis, Vesiculobullous,

Sjorgen’s Syndrome, diabetes, etc. Dr. Moore said, “I’ve

seen remarkable healing and increased pain control.”

One night at dinner, I had eaten only a couple of bites of my dinner when I doubled over in pain. It felt as though my stomach was on fire and was burning a hole through the middle of me. I had never felt such pain and I have not since…
