When I was a kid, my mom got us all waterproof bedding.
Although I was not a bed wetter, my parents were pretty thrifty people and did not want to take any chances with the new mattresses they had bought for us.
They figure that waterproof mattress covers were the best way to ensure that the beds did not get damaged, and so they made sure that every child had them.
To tell you the truth, I didn’t really like the waterproof mattress pad when I was young. It was kind of uncomfortable.
Then last year, my child started to wet the bed. I went out to buy him a waterproof bed protector and was surprised by what I found.

All too often, people who need physical therapy avoid it because they feel uncomfortable.
Physical rehabilitation, however, does not have to have such a stigma about it.
It is a necessary part of life for a lot of people and those people should not be ashamed of working hard to return to the lives that they led before.
Physical therapy products like hand and arm exercisers, pedal exercisers, and equipment to help a person stretch and strengthen his or her limbs can be of tremendous assistance to someone who wants to improve mobility.
Another good way to use aids for physical therapy to improve mobility and strength is through the use of stretching.

There are more options for taking care of the elderly than ever before, but sometimes that makes the decisions even harder.
When I had to first start thinking about taking care of elderly parents, I couldn’t figure out what to do.
What I didn’t realize was that there were a lot of other options. Part of me wanted to go more traditional and keep my parents in the house.
There were also assisted living facilities where older people can live a semi-independent lifestyle with a little bit of supervision to make sure they are okay.
On the other extreme was sending my parents for nursing home care, something which definitely had its appeal.

A job currently in demand: caregivers for the elderly
Caregivers for the elderly are usually paid by the state for elderly home care of these elderly folks.
Elderly caregivers are not necessarily licensed nurses or L.V.N.s.
Usually all that’s required to qualify is a willingness and aptitude in being able to dispense good care in good cheer.
If you think you have what it takes to give this type of caring for the elderly person, you should contact your Department of Human Resources to see what openings are available.

Our parents care for and love us until we are old enough to go out on our own.
There may come a time when the roles are reversed, as much as we don’t like to think about it.
Though some joke and say caring for aging parents is much like caring for a baby, that is usually not the case.
Some do develop conditions like dementia or have debilitating strokes that render them unable to communicate their needs and wants, or unable to think about much of anything.
Elderly home care is never easy, especially when they are your own parents.

“Everyone dies, but no one is dead, ” goes the Tibetan saying. It is with these words that Dalai Lama’s ‘Advice on Dying’ takes flight. Using a seventeenth-century poem written by a prominent scholar-practitioner, His Holiness the Dalai Lama draws from a wide range of traditions and beliefs to explore the stages we all go through when we die, which are the very same stages we experience in life when we go to sleep, faint, or reach orgasm (Shakespeare’s ‘little death”).
The stages are described so vividly that we can imagine the process of traveling deeper into the mind, on the ultimate journey of transformation. In this way, His Holiness shows us how to prepare for that time and, in doing so, how to enrich our time on earth, die without fear or upset, and influence the stage between this life and the next so that we may gain the best possible incarnation. As always, the ultimate goal is to advance along the path to enlightenment. Advice on Dying is an essential tool for attaining that eternal bliss.
