August 10th, 2009

Thinking of Sperm Donor Insemination?

When there is no way your husband can get your pregnant, or even if you are single and do not want a man involved, you can go through insemination with donor sperm.

What is cool about this process is that you can find a sperm donor and choose one that seems to be appealing to you.

You can go by physical features along with thinking about all aspects of who someone is in life.

The artificial insemination procedure is not that expensive in comparison to something like in vitro fertilization.

Do You Need Information on ADHD?

February 12th, 2007

Long before anyone knew what ADHD was, I was living with it. Both of my brothers had it, but they were just considered ‘bad kids’ and my mother was told to keep them in line. Years later, my youngest brother was diagnosed with this condition, and suddenly everything my mother had gone through seemed to now have an answer. Though it seems there are many cases where children are diagnosed with this who aren’t really ADHD, there are many children who have to deal with it on a daily basis. If you suspect something like this in your child, you have to find information on ADHD and then visit your doctor.

Get The Lowdown On Baby Beds

January 31st, 2007

I was further staggered at the astonishing scope of baby beds on offer. For example, there was a range of hooded ‘bassinets’, then the more familiar and recognizable cradles and cribs. In all shapes and sizes, not to mention on rockers, portable, travel, and Lord knows what else. Ultimately there were designer-style ones that cost a pretty penny but would make any baby feel truly cherished and special.

Pediatric Dentistry - Friendly Dentists

January 20th, 2007

Since my 2 year old son now has all of his teeth, we figured it was time to take that first trip to the dentist. We were a little unsure of taking him to our regular dentist because the whole environment just seemed a little overwhelming for a little guy. Everything is so sterile looking and probably quite scary to a little person that is much smaller than some of the equipment in the office. We started a search for an office that specializes in pediatric dentistry and found one that was covered by our dental insurance to try out.

Colic and How To Treat It …

January 4th, 2007

If your baby is onto a different level of crying or showing signs of chronic irritability, then the infant might probably be suffering from a severe abdominal pain caused by spasm, obstruction, or distention of any of the hollow viscera—such as the intestines—called “colic.”

Known to occur at the early stages of infancy, colic is characterized in varying levels of severity. Since this is caused by gas trapped within the intestines or spasms of new intestines, most babies experience extreme discomfort and can even develop serious digestive problems if not paid proper attention.

Cough Medicine Is NOT the Flavor of the Month!

December 31st, 2006

Cough medicine tastes a lot better than it did when I was a kid. One kind I bought for my daughter was bubblegum flavored. I tried it myself, and I had to admit that while it did not taste exactly like bubblegum, it was pretty darn good. She refuses to take it, and makes the most annoying gagging noises if it gets near her. In fact, her gagging is so convincing that I begin to think I am about to throw up. I gave in and bought her something else.

December 20th, 2006

Here’s about OCD amongst Children

This little understood illness do afflict the young. Sad to say, there are more than a million children in the different parts of the world who suffer from OCD. This leads to the presumption that one of the causes of OCD is hereditary or in simpler terms, it runs in the genes of the family. Probably, it is one but until now there is no supporting fact about it yet besides the proven causes stated by some medical experts.

Most of the parents would often state that it is much better if they are the one to bear the risks caused by OCD than their children.

Children’s Picky Eater Habits

December 6th, 2006

Keeping up with your child’s picky eating preferences can be frustrating, especially when one week he or she will only eat peanut-butter sandwiches, and the next cheese-covered French fries. Then, when he or she develops the nasty habit of putting catsup on everything - including ice cream – you may think you have reached the ultimate level of gross-out.

Do not despair because eventually your picky eater child will become bored with that food of choice and move on to something else!

Many children undergo a period of highly selective eating, commonly referred to as “picky eaters.” The reality is that all children (not just what you might consider a picky eater child) do not have the same taste buds as adults. Instead, their palates are undeveloped and may be more sensitive to different textures, flavors, and spices.
